Bleach Creator Tite Kubo Suddenly Leaves Twitter
posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
Following in the footsteps of voice actor Toshiyuki Toyonaga, the usually active Tite Kubo has suddenly quit Twitter on Thursday. He offered no explanation, only writing the day before, "[Notice] Tomorrow night, after about 24 hours I will delete my Twitter account. Until that time, please direct message me."
The Bleach manga creator made good on his promise and his account is now gone. Prior to this, Kubo often engaged with fans and confirmed news through the service.
Following his departure, Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine posted a notice on Friday stating that false photos originating on Twitter are being spread online that are being passed off as photos of Kubo. The magazine's editorial department added that "such acts infringe upon the personal rights of Tite Kubo," and stated that they will pursue legal action to deal with the matter in the case of malicious intent.
Kubo began working on the finale of the long-running series in 2012 and took a one-month hiatus in 2013 to prepare the final battle.
