Get Your Game On With Nike's New Megatron Sneakers
posted on by Bamboo Dong
Detroit Lions fans have been calling wide receiver Calvin Johnson "Megatron" ever since 2007, when teammate Roy Williams gave him the nickname. And at long last, the collaboration of destiny has finally solidified, bridging together Nike, who sponsors Johnson's shoes, and Hasbro, who owns the Transformers brand outside of Japan.
The limited edition CJ81 Megatron collection (named for Johnson's initials and jersey number) has three different styles of shoes, and is only available as a "Megatron Rises 3-Pack." And by limited edition, they mean very limited, as only 81 of the sets will be available.
Naturally, the box transforms, too:
Included is a pair of the CJ81 Megatron Trainer Max, which even has the Decepticon logo on the laces and backside.
There's also the CJ81 Megatron Nike Air Trainer SC II, which also features the Decepticon logo on the backside.
And finally, the CJ81 Megatron Elite TD Cleat.
And of course, each shoe comes with an actual Transformer, with matching football.
