Newest Jam with the Band Game Turns You Into a Vocaloid
posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
Nintendo announced the newest game in the Daigassō! Band Brothers (Jam with the Band) series, Daigassō! Band Brothers P, during its Nintendo Direct presentation on Wednesday. The Nintendo 3DS game synthesizes the user's voice and photograph to create a custom Vocaloid. Players take a picture with the Nintendo 3DS camera and record their voice with the microphone. The game then uses Yamaha's Vocaloid synthesizer software to create a Vocaloid based on the image and recording.
The game will have a "Professional" and "Producer" modes. Professional mode will feature more playable instruments, and in the producer mode players produce singers, including a singer based on their own voice.
The Daigassō! Band Brothers music games launched in Japan in 2004 with the Nintendo DS console. Nintendo released a sequel in Japan in 2008 titled Daigassō! Band Brothers, and it released the game in Europe in 2010 as Jam with the Band. The game featured more than 60 playable instruments and a download song library of more than 4,000 songs. The series has yet to be released stateside.
Daigassō! Band Brothers P is slated for release in Japan this winter.
