GameCenter CX/Retro Game Master Video Game Variety Show Gets Film

Shinya Arino (pictured at right), comedian and host of the Japanese live-action video game variety series Retro Game Master (GameCenter CX), announced at a 10th anniversary press conference for the show on Friday that the show is getting a film adaptation.
When asked who he would want to be played by in GameCenter CX The Movie, Arino replied that he would like to be played by either Arata Furuta, Yoshiyoshi Arakawa, Satoshi Tsumabuki, or Joe Odagiri.
In addition to the movie, the original soundtrack to the television show will ship on July 24 in celebration of the show's 10th anniversary. Other celebrations include and a third video game based on the show for the Nintendo 3DS that is scheduled to ship this winter, and the show will get a third episode filmed abroad, this time in Paris. The new episode will air sometime in October. Arino is also scheduled to attend this year's Tokyo Game Show that will be held from September 19-22, and he will host a "Game Center CX - Arino Challenges in Budōkan" event on November 5.
North American video distributor Discotek Media released an English-subtitled box set of 12 of the GameCenter CX episodes last October. The distributor changed the show's title to Retro Game Master for North American release.
