Eva's Megumi Ogata to Use Twitter Only Until June

Voice actress Megumi Ogata (Evangelion's Shinji, Sailor Moon's Haruka Tenoh/Sailor Uranus, Angel Beats!'s Ayato Naoi) launched her Twitter account on Friday, but she intends to only use it until June. Ogata started the limited-time account to spread the word about her birthday charity event on June 4, as well as a June 5 earthquake charity event. In less than four days, Ogata has attracted over 1,730 followers.

The "pray…" birthday charity event will be held at the TV Asahi event area "umu" in Tokyo on June 4. Ogata will then join other voice actresses and female vocalists at Nevula Project's Voice Session charity performance at the same location the next day. The other scheduled participants at the event include Noriko Hidaka, Sakura Tange, Wakana Yamazaki, Atsuko Enomoto, Yuko Gibu, mao, Hiromi Satou, Miyuki Hashimoto, yozuca*、CooRie、AiRI, Mayumi Gojo, and Yuka Uchiyae. The Voice Session event will support the victims of the Great Eastern Japan Earthquake disaster (Higashi Nihon Daishinsai) of March 11, and its tickets already sold out on the first day of sales.

Fellow voice actress Aya Hirano launched a Twitter account, "Hysteric_Barbie," to promote her 10th CD single of the same name last June. Even though Hirano intended to use the account for one day only (on the CD's launch date), she still uses it to this day to send messages to her followers — more than 197,400 of them.
