On December 20 and 21, NTT Resonant's Internet portal website goo asked 1,128 users in Japan about which sayings they have frequently seen online, despite not knowing where they came from.
These were the top choices:

In a separate survey last year, the Sankei Shimbun paper's web editors asked people to submit their suggestions for the year's fad words and Internet memes.
