Trivia:

Aoi and Kaoru's situation mirror the typical (traditional) japanese family setup. Japanese men and women used to marry and set up housekeeping, usually with one or the other's parent, in this case represented by Miyabi. Then, children come along one by one to add energy and a little chaos to the household, but also serve to interfere with the free expression of their romantic love--in this case, Tina, Taeko and Chika.

In volume 5, chapter 40, Tina is singing a song that Kaoru knows only as a Western song. Although the lyrics have been altered for copyright reasons, the song is still recognizable as the Frank Sinatra standard "Fly Me To The Moon."

In the volume 5 special chapter "Amaterasu Sun Goddess", Taeko (the maid) says the line "I think perverted things are bad!" This is the catchphrase of the character Mahoro (who is also a maid) in the manga and anime Mahoromatic.
