Trivia:
The story depicts and dramatizes around St. Gotthard Pass in the eve of the Battle of Morgarten (15 November 1315), when Uri, Schwyz and Unterwalden (also known as "the Three Forest Cantons," core members of the future Switzerland) won a decisive victory over the Duchy of Austria / the House of Habsburg. Legendary Swiss hero William Tell and his son also appear in the story.
