Trivia:

The runes on Saito's hand read "Gundolf".

The pairing of Kugimiya Rei (Louise) and Hino Satoshi (Hiraga Saito) is a similar reprise of their roles in Shakugan no Shana, in which Rie voices Shana and Satoshi voices Sakai Yuuji. They share a strikingly similar symbiosis--Shana similarly beats up on Yuuji while indirectly showing affection, and Yuuji has within him a hidden but awesome power.

The character Montmorency Margarita Lafaire de Montmorency as incidently the same name as a college in Quebec, Canada.

If you add an "f" to Montmorency's name Lafaire, it would make Laffaire of which if you add the rest of the name it translates as in "the thing from Montmorency"(like a monster or myth from a certain place)

In early Hindu texts, the symbol Sunya was used to represent Zero. The meaning of Sunya is Void.

Well actually until Zero no Tsukaima and Shakugan no Shana were in J.C. Staff they were never related in any way. They don't have same author, artist or publisher. But it makes a real odd coincidence

Gallia was the Latin name for the Roman provinces Narbonensis, Aquitania, Lugdunensis, Celtica, and Belgica, which more or less make up most of modern France and the rest of the Low Countries. In English, the region is usually known as Gaul, as a result of the way "Gallia" came to be written in French.

In Norse mythology, Vestri, the name of the main courtyard of the school of magic, was the dwarf who supported the west cardinal point. He, along with his three kin, Norðri, Suðri, and Austri, appear in the Völuspá, an Icelandic poem about the creation of the world and its future destruction.

Tabitha's (Charlotte) situation with her mother is extremely similiar to that of Asuka Sohryu Langley of Neon Genesis Evangelion. Although the reason is different, they both ended up with a mother who treats a doll as her daughter and her daughter as an outsider. Although Tabitha seemed to resemble Ayanami Rei, Asuka's counterpart.

Gandalf is a name of a dwarf from the norse mythology poem voluspa. it means a protective spirit who wields a magical wand.
