Maki Murakami is a big fan of the Music composer, Music Producer and Sound Producer of the Gravitation anime, Daisuke Asakura. The character Tohma Seguchi is said to be inspired by him. They are both producers, composers, keyboardists, and have platinum blonde hair and blue eyes (Daisuke Asakura often wears coloured contacts).

On the first episode, where Hiro tells Shuichi that he's in love with Yuki, they eat a strawberry pocky, a very well knowned candy/cookie in Japan.

In the latest anime event that was held in America, Murakami Maki, the mangaka behind Gravitation, proved that her designs of Seguchi Touma was really from the anime's musical director Asakura Daisuke. She also informed that she was a big fan of him.
