Some of the names in this anime are those of Gods in Norse mythology. Thor: God of thunder who wielded a Hammer. Odin was the chief God and is associated with wisdom, war, battle and death, as well as magic, poetry, prophecy, victory and the hunt. Loki is categorized as a God and as a Jotun (giant) as well, he was sly and deceiving.
Asgard, Odin's space ship in the anime, is the home of the gods in Norse mythology.
