In ep 11 of Hetalia World Series China's boss looks very similar to the dragon in the Dragonball franchise. China is also holding a Hello Kitty plushie.
The tune someone from the allied forces is singing in episode 6 while they roast marshmallows is the tune of the song March of the Three Kings.
In episode 15, when Japan and Italy first arrive in Rome, Japan remarks he thinks Rome is fabulous. However, when this conversation takes place, they are looking at the Duomo, a cathedral in Florence.
In episode 39, England is singing a song to baby America as he rocks him. While the first part cannot be heard over the narration, England can be legibly heard singing, "...speaks my name/And do I dream again?/For now I find," which is part of the verses from "The Phantom of the Opera," the same-named musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber.
