Guess the Geneon License

Anime News Network and Geneon Entertainment are currently holding a contest where the first seven (7) people to correctly identify Geneon's latest anime acquisition will each win a DVD prize. Winning entries are those that can correctly identify (1) the anime title and (2) the verbal clues/hints that allude to the anime title.

Geneon Entertainment will spread multiple verbal clues throughout the 2007-01-09 edition of the Geneon Talk Radio podcast, which is likely to be available sometime in the evening of 2007-01-08.

The winners are those that can name the correct anime title as well as correctly identify as many of the verbal clues as possible. The first person to correctly answer the most clues will receive volume 1 of the series in question (when it becomes available) and a choice of 1 of two other box sets. The second place winner will receive a choice of 1 of two box sets. The third through seventh placed winners will receive a Geneon DVD (Please excuse us, but telling you what the prizes are would compromise the contest as they are related to the licensed title).

As a bonus, the first place winner will receive an extra prize (another DVD) if there is a more than 24 hour delay between his or her submission and the seventh winning submission. So if you figure it out, don't tell other people, it diminishes you chance of winning and how much you might win. Don't forget, the first place winner won't necessarily be the first person to guess the name of the show, it will be the first person to submit the name of the show and the most hints (IE: if the most anyone gets is 8 correct hints, the winner will be the first person to submit 8 hints).

Submissions are due by 11:59 PM, Eastern Standard Time, Thursday, January 11, 2007. The full list of clues, and the winners, will be revealed on Anime News Network on January 16. The Title will be announced on Anime News Network on, or before January 15.

The Fine Print: Although unlikely to happen, Anime News Network and Geneon Entertainment reserve the right to cancel this contest at any time. Contest is open only to residents of the contiguous United States. Prizes will be shipped to the address submitted and no other. Only 1 entry per mailing address allowed. Winners' names will be announced on Anime News Network their mailing addresses will be provided to Geneon Entertainment and their shipping agent of choice (ie: Fed Ex) and no one else. Winners' addresses and e-mail addresses will be erased once the prizes have been shipped. Non-winners' names, e-mail and mailing addresses will not be given out to any one and will be erased when the winners have been confirmed. Non-winners will not be contacted, spammed or harassed in any way. Anime News Network reserves the right to retroactively add new rules when and how we see fit.
