January Review Contest Results

Well, we received a lot of reviews this month, and we posted a total of 17 reviews, 12 of which are eligible for the review contest. These twelve reviews are:

Unfortunately there was also a number of reviews that we received that we could not post for various reasons. Most painful were the ones that were decent reviews but missing some required element such as the production information... With the number of reviews coming in, and all the other work involved in Anime News Network, it just isn't possible for me to hunt down the missing information. Fortunately some of these reviews might come back to be posted this month!

Selecting a winner this month wasn't easy either, it became a very close contest between five reviews, all of which were excellent. Finally I was able to settle on two reviews, and as it happens, George had also selected one of those two as his favorite review, so the winner is:

Now, as you may or may not know, the contest rules specifically stated that at least 20 entries would have to be received, what we meant to say was: "A minimum of 20 entries must be accepted". But, since this was teh opening month of the contest, we decided to award the prize nonetheless. In February however, we must have 20 posted reviews (not including any posted by George or myself) if we are to award the prize.
