Boys and girls, it's analogy time:
"Cowboy Bebop" to Bandai the same as "Neon Genesis Evangelion" to ADV. Just kidding. It's a pretty nice compliation actually. A lot better than "Perfect Sessions", IMHO. |

I knew there was a reason I didn't buy the boxset when it was released a few years ago.

Great, just after I bought the boxset a month ago. Eh, still gonna get it though.

People finally ge thier wish. Odd how the 5.1 japanese were 7 DVD and the remix are still 6 DVD. Not that I'm complaining since 6 DVD is cheaper. I just hope for a nice LE Box.
Time for people who own the set to sell them on Ebay and buy this one with remaster sound and video. |

I'm also hoping for a nice LE box and some cool new cover art for each DVD. I didn't buy any of the regular edition because of the tacky covers.

Jeez, they could have thrown in a soundtrack cd to sweeten the deal, those stingy bastards. Seriously though, I think I mentioned how much I wanted a re-release of the Japanese remastered bebop dvd’s, just a few day ago. Talk of the devil.

I'm not seeing anything listed that wasn't on the original 6 discs except maybe the 5.1 remastering. So basically I see no reason to plunk my money down.

Well, i don't own Cowboy Bebop and I would really like to, so this is perfect for me. I wonder how much they are going to want, though? ::crosses fingers for $20 or under::

Same with me. I wasn't really thinking of buying it soon, but I guess impatience will take over now... |

And just when I was driving myself crazy trying to find a Perfect Collection set for a reasonable price, Bandai answers my prayers and delivers a new, remastered set. I'm assuming it will have an awesome art box as an option with the first or last DVD, since that seems to be the standard. If the presentation is anything like what I'm seeing with the remastered Evangelion DVDs, I'm going to be very happy.
Any chance of a remastered version of the Bebop movie Knockin' on Heaven's Door, or is that too recent to be remastered? I guess this makes that "Best Sessions" DVD where they remasted the audio for the 6 favorite episodes kind of obsolete now... |

Yay. Time for me to get "Bebop Platinum." And much like Evangelion, I'm glad I never went out of my way to buy the series knowing full well that a better version would probably come out sooner or later.
Knowing Bandai, I'm sure they'll probably include something extra with Vol.1. Heck, I'd love for them to do a .hack//SIGN and make every volume have a Limited Edition release. Vol.1 can have a box w/ the first OST, and the volumes afterwards can each have another one, and an Ein plush would just SO top it off . I've got a lot of saving up to do now . |

"Cool," says I.
Hopefully the price will be about the same, and not upped for some ridiculous reason. |

Wait a min....
The article doesn't state if the newly formatted Dolby 5.1/DTS version is going to be released in US. Japan recently, about 2 months ago, released the limited edition boxset with entire series redone in 5.1 Dolby audio. I'm a big Cowboy Bebop fan so I got it for $300-ish. Can't remember exact ¥ rate at the time but it was expensive. Each disc had it's own case design and the whole thing in limited edition boxset. You can view it here in http://global.yesasia.com/en/PrdDept.aspx/pid-1003805463/code-j/section-videos/ and click on "This version comes in a deluxe package." for more detailed view on each of the disc. If I'm not mistaken, Evangelion is also going to be released with newly formated DTS audio in Japan as well....that'll be 4th version of Evangelion I'll need to buy again....VHS to original DVD to Platinum Edition then to DTS....
