When I heard Girls Bravo was announced, I was sure that DearS was a soon to follow. What really is surprising me is that normally all these types of announcements happening are usually held for conventions. It's almost as if tomorrow they will say that Goddess TV has been licensed and then the day after that, we'll hear that Bleach has been pulled as well. Ah well, it doesn't affect me that much. When they come out here, then I can get them on DVD. Smile

So, they're releasing DearS hmm.

Guess that means I'll need to throw out my fansubs then...

...though just throwing it out seems inadequate for something that lame. Basically borrows from other fanservice centered anime without the talent that makes others good

If this is considered a good title, it might be an advance warning that anime will start declining in the future

You kidding me? It's been declining for awhile - it seems like almost anything will get licensed these days - yet some other and other things never seem to get recognized.

Yeah, but DearS is something that is so stupid, that I can't figure out why everyone's so excited. It's a ripoff of several better series that can only boast fanservice as a significant mark.
It's as if the creators quit trying and said "Get a girl with huge breasts, stick him in some geek's room and make stuff happen until the end of the series.

But you're right that series have been declining lately. I'm finding it harder to get excited over any news I see here or on AoD anymore.

So why isn't Kanon licensed?! Anime hyper Or 2x2=Shinobuden Anime hyper

I think it's time for me to get out the torches and pitchforks, unless somebody calms me down with a Nia plushie.

(I think there's a Geneon rep in my school's anime club. We've been watching this and Melody of Oblivion recently. ^^; )

Again, I did state that some things never get recognized... Anime smile + sweatdrop
If they were, Full Moon wo Sagashite and Kanon would have been licensed already.

That probably falls under the "other things never seem to get recognized" category.

Well, this is the third licensed anime I've heard about in the past day. They just keep coming.

Anyway, is this any good?

No. It really is Bondage Chobits.

Anyway, in response to other stuff, maybe the release of Naruto will help catapult the Nonsense Kunoichi Fiction to America

OH GOD WHY

Someone could have used that money to liscense Windy Tales...or Mahou Shoujo Tai...or Noiseman Sound Insect...or Gosenzosama Banbanzai...so why the hell does DearS make it over to our shores?

Lots of people talk of 'supporting the American anime market,' but at this point , maybe we should just forget that it already existed. Way too late for it to die with dignity.

I always thought of it as a parody type show not only parodying things like chobits but fanservice itself with the over the top teacher, I thought it was funny...... but maybe thats just me.

I thought she was just a rip-off of the teacher from Mahoromatic.
