As someone who just spent the weekend playing 1.5, I suddenly got a premonition of a future with endless kh games to play and replay...
Not complaining

I'm guessing this includes DDD. Not sure if I should buy the ps3 or ps4 version. If the release is close to kh3 then maybe I'll go with the latter.

I think 2.9 is going to be the same thing as FF 15 with a demo that gets released to give people something to do while they wait for the game to be finished.

So this could be a 358 Days/2, re:Coded, and Dream Drop Distance compilation for the PS3/4 or a prologue game to Kingdom Hearts III à la Metal Gear Solid V:Ground Zeroes. Or am I missing some other possibility?

358/2 Days and RE:Coded are already in the 1.5 and 2.5 sets (respectively).
And I'm doubting 3D being in a collection, because a) It's already on a current-gen system, and b) It does make use of the dual screens, more so than the other portable games, and I don't think it would translate well to single screen.
I think the guess on this being an extended demo like FFXV is probably pretty accurate. If it were truly a new game, we would have heard about it before now, and if it were a collection, they'd have announced it at E3 or D23.

But it's not on the NEW 3DS, but the old one.
Remember that Nintendo likes backwards compatibility for their handhelds and you most certainly cannot play NEW 3DS games on the older 3DS. It's like claiming that Nintendo wouldn't make another Super Smash Bros. for the Wii because the Wii could still play SSB Melee. Same goes for KH. Technically, you could play KH, KH Re: COM, and KH2 on a PS3 (if it was a backwards compatible model). We also got KH1.5 and KH2.5 on PS3.
The only difference is that it would be changing console companies, which has happened with KH: COM on the GBA to KH: Re: COM on the PS2. So, it's totally possible.
I just hope that it is only on PS4. I also hope it includes playable versions of KH 358/2 Days, Re: Coded, and Dream Drop Distance and something to reference key(sp?) and possibly a trailer and/or demo for KH3. Plus, it must have a worldwide release (please no more exclusivity based on region). I know that this is a lot, but we're going to be waiting a while still and with our luck, KH3 won't be done for another 2 years.

That logic is flawed because of a guy named Tetsuya Nomura. He's already stated that it would be weird if KH3D is the odd one out just like he said it would be weird if 2.5 didn't happen.

I really, really hope this is DDD on PS3 ;__;. I hate how the KH series story works where you basically have to play some handheld game to understand the story in the main games. I really doubt it's a demo for KH3 because it says PS3 and PS4, KHIII probably can't run on a PS3. Maybe DDD and a video explaining the confusing story? DDD & a specially made prologue? Idk.

I think what I'm personally more intrigued about are these little tidbits for KHIII:
Quote: | Multiplayer planning and documentation
|
So I'm guessing that means there will be a multiplayer mode? I wonder how it'll be (and if there will be local multiplayer as well, or only online) - I mean, I'd heard rumors that there would be multiplayer, but it's good to have confirmation
Quote: | Translation and interpretation of contact between involved English and Japanese parties including Disney and Pixar
...
Holding meetings with Disney and Pixar |
I think this one speaks for itself (though assuming it really is happening, and those weren't just meetings to discuss the possibility of worlds based off Pixar properties, I wonder which worlds it would be?)
