I think that could turn out to be somewhat successful. What do you guys think?

I have no doubt they're capable of making this a success, but if their first project is another Mario toon I'll pass. Nothing against Mario mind you, but it's been done. They need to try something they haven't done before like Metroid or Custom Robo, or even *gasp* something entirely new.

Nope, not another mario.
http://www.n-philes.com/index.php?Id=312 Good to see that Yamauchi still hasn't lost any of his stark raving looney self after losing complete ownership over the Nintendo corporation. |

Bah! of course the Nintendo stuff will be aimed at a much younger demographic, however if they can produce a cool series based on Metriod Prime, I'm there.
I would love to see more Anime projects based on the SEGA franchise (yeah, i know; Panzer Dragoon and Virtual Fighter both sucked)hmm.. how about Shinobi or Altered Beast? |

...except for those already produced by DiC in the early 90's. Those are out of their reach. And I don't believe that 4Kids has the instant rights to any Nintendo animations. They're the primary liscensers, but not the only ones. |

I wouldn't mind a Custom Robo anime.

First I think they are going to transfer Pokemon to that studio, then work on ether a Mario or Zelda anime.

I doubt it. After reading what LordByronius linked to it looks more like Nintendo isn't actually starting a division so much as they're just helping in the funding process. Or maybe they mistranslated it. Either way it doesn't mean anything until the October meeting. If they wanted an animation division they would have probably done so back when Pokemon was at the hight of it's popularity. For now they still seem to be content with outsourcing to other productoin houses. Emerje |

Metroid and Mario would be cool. I really wouldn't mind a Mario anime either. That crap was a big part of my child-hood.

Seeing as how they're talking about a theatrical movie then probably not. Emerje |
