Hmm, I'll be optimistic about this and hope for a speedy release date. Really wish the trailer showed more animation though but I think this could be good.

Hope to see it beyond the end of the year. I'm assuming this will be a full length feature and not like the hour long Arise episodes. I know the line between OVA and film can be blurred, but if they truly came out to theaters first exclusively, they're movies.

But what will it be about?

Will it be a reboot of the original movie or a sequel to the OVA series or something else?

Looks like a continuation of Arise. But as a feature length film, instead of shorter OVA length films.

I'm also optimistic, I don't dislike Arise as much as others. Though its definitely no SAC.

It does look good in teaser video. I just hope their moving forward with Arise's storyline verse another start from the beginning again film. I can take so many those with same franchise, despite how much I like GiTS.

I like ARISE, but OVAs felt like they were missing something

Ubukata's doing the script? After seeing Psycho-Pass 2 I'll have to think over this one. Sad

But what color is her hair!? Will it be blue like in the recent OVAs? Purple like in SAC, or black like in the original movie?

the thing that always got me about Arise was Sakamoto's performance. She's clearly trying so damn hard to be taken seriously...but she's just not any good as the Major. Then again, whenever Sakamoto tries to play "tough chicks" it's almost always ended badly (see also: Lightning in FFXIII). And of course what's doubly funny is that the Major is tough...but she never ACTS tough; if anything, she was more playful, laid back, and philosophical.

So is this...

- A movie continuation/setting within the story of ARISE?

- A movie compilation of ARISE with new animation?

- An original GITS film with nothing to do with ARISE but using the same cast/staff?

It seems like it's an Arise movie, based on the staff. And judging by the trailer, it looks like Motoko will finally get her adult body.
