I'm totally fine with that, there's plenty of other games I want to buy.
I'm just sitting here waiting until 3D World gets a discount of some sort.

Nintendo games take forever to get discounted, you'll be waiting for a while. But it's a great game.
So that means 2016 will have Mario as the main holiday game, because it's Zelda this year. But this year will hopefully get us Sunshine HD (please).

My old marketing teacher in College would have been dismayed at that sort of response.
A better statement would be something like; "We don't have a set release policy - rather we follow customer demand, so if our customers have asked for a new Mario release we will endeavor to produce one. We think our latest releases have satisfied our customers for now"
That has the aspects of encouraging your customers to respond to you, buy more of your product and being pretty much the literal truth.

This is really good, usually a Nintendo plan of the year has 2 or 3 big titles, like Zelda, Metroid, Kirby, Smash etc and a ton of Mario spin off titles. I know it helps pad the releases out, especially now that less publishers are releasing titles, but having 5 to 10 Mario titles, which already have a thousand over iterations gets tiring; Party, Golf, Strikers, Basketball, Tennis.

Not a problem, since that means more time to enjoy the Super Mario titles that are already out.

A new Mario game isn't needed every year and that is fine. This means Nintendo better be working HARD to release Star Fox and Zelda this year.
Mario Maker just ain't gonna cut it.

I wish Assassin's Creed would take a year off.

Uh, they confirmed those were 2015 releases when they were first announced. Plus they have other stuff like Yoshi's Woolly World, Kirby and the Rainbow Curse, Devil's Third, Xenoblade X, Splatoon, etc. They're looking good for the next year, and that's before you get into their 3DS titles.

Something being confirmed as a 2015 release doesn't make it a 2015 release. For reference: see 2014 releases.
Star Fox and Zelda have bare ly been shown. Yoshi and Kirby aren't exactly system sellers, and Devil's Third and Splatoon are unknown quantities.

Nintendo has the worst marketing of any company I know. But in this case it's not bad. He's talking about the trend is annualized games, and the criticism associated with it. He's talking to gamers more so than the general public.

Can't say if this is good or bad, but at least Nintendo is toning down the milking of Mario which is good news.

I think everyone's happy with this. Now they have more time to focus on franchises that they've been neglecting, like Star Fox, Metroid, and that Fire Emblem x Shin Megami Tensei game that is supposedly in the works....
