So has there been any word on what format it will be in yet? From the looks of it we may be getting another movie.

Which would be a bummer.

Here's hoping Animeigo ponies up the bucks to license the new work instead of Pioneer/Geneon.

Sorry Pioneer, but Juliet Cesario > Ruby Marlowe as far as the voice of Belldandy is concerned.

I haven't seen the Goddess movie, and haven't seen the miniseries in years, but based on what I've heard from them both actresses are quite good.

Bah... considering when it was done, The Goddess OVA's were far better done dubbed than the move was. While the emotions were well conveyed in the OVA's when Costal did the dub there, the move came off as being much weaker. (comparing dub for dub)

Either way, I'm glad we have more coming out, be it a movie, a TV series, or even another story like OVA's.

i thought who all did it the pioneer dub was fine but didn't the OVAs come out a while back? maybe they couldnt find them, but i thought the movie was amazing and i woudnt complain if they created a serise or even another movie, but yea i think the OVA VA for Belldandy was better than the movie one...

In this case, it wasn't a matter of not being able to find the original cast, but rather, cost effectiveness. I doubt that they wanted to fly cast members from the across the nation to LA to do the dub, and it was much cheaper to use a studio based in Los Angeles than to use a studio in Wilmington, NC

Ah, the pains of being in America compared to Japan. Heh, we're so much bigger I suppose. We gotta deal with this kind of thing. At anyrate, i dun care what they bring out, it will be great and I will be getting it asap. In the long run (which the Japanese are known for thinking/planning wise) any sort of material out will only stimulate the fandom surounding it more which then will allow for more to happen. The manga is not even doen yet so we've always influx of die hards and newbies alike. I for one wish to be a die hard, but I'd best buy soem of em first ^^;;; I'm such a cheapo

What are you basing this on? The fact that the movie company is doing the animation means nothing. The mini-goddess series wasn't done by the animation studio that did the OAV's, right? And I was thinking the people who did the animation for the OAV went out of business and that this was part of the reason for holding up a new anime series based on the manga. The movie may have manga characters, but it is an original story. And the mini-goddess adventures are based on the comic strip.

It may be that a movie gets done, but I suspect we'll get a TV series. If so, if they are smart, they'll start the series from scratch. While I love the manga, it has a lot of problems. An anime series can fix a lot of problems.

1) Angels can be introduced early on. In the manga, it is a few years before we see angels because Fujishima-san hadn't conceived them. So early on, Belldandy can mention Blessed Bell (or Holy Bell) and even use most her her limited power to call her forth. The near accident early on would be great. Keiichi could see Blessed Bell return to Belldandy who then falls asleep. Then the next day, Bell could explain Blessed Bell to Keiichi and formally introduce them. But she would explain that with her power limiters, she it takes a lot of power to summon Blessed Bell. So we then really wouldn't see Blessed Bell until the Lord of Terror arc. When Belldandy unseals her powers, having Blessed Bell burst out and send out a power-ring would be pretty cool. Cool

2) The relationship between Belldandy and Keiichi can progress further than it has in the manga. OK, I know this is a stretch, but while I wouldn't have Bell and K1 sleep together, I would have them more romantic and dating. Then for the 4th Goddess arc, I'd have Keiichi's wish not be to just hear "I love you" from Belldandy, but to have her say "yes" when he asks her to marry him. THAT would rock, but I doubt the Japanese will be so bold to go this route.

I won't bore you guys by going on, but with over 15-years of manga material, the stories can be tightened to avoid some of the plot holes Fujishima created.

Accourding to Moonphase's web page it will be a TV series probably starting in 2005 with Kosuke Fujishima active participation in the project. Smile Hopefully it will be at least 26 (52 would be better) episodes and will follow the manga from the beginning.

Also, in chapter 3 of the manga Belldandy and Keichii did "sleep" together or at least they woke up in the same futon which was big surprise to Keichii. I think they also slept together later on in the manga when their hands got stuck together. Of course, Keichii being Keichii nothing happened either time. Sad

Juliet Cesario and Scott Simpson, the voices of Bell and Kei respectively are married, and still interested in doing AMG. They actually have a website (which I don't have on hand right now, but a simple google search should bring it up) and they DO answer emails. Very nice people.

Mrs. Cesario is still voice acting, as she just did Miyuki in the Your Under Arrest TV series Animeigo finally put out.

I hope we get the "original" Belldandy anad Keiichi for the dub. Same with the rest of the cast. Urd was great in the Animeigo dub, but Skuld needed some work. Maybe she's more experienced now. ^_^

Glad to hear they're interested in doing it and still are enthusiastic about the roles. It'll be in my prayers along with licensing of the 3rd Tenchi OAV, a Wangan Midnight anime, and free tickets to Rush at Blossom Music Center on June 7th for me and my girlfriend.

It's common enough around the net, I thought that I'd post it here. Haven't written them in a while, but here's the address I reached them at. No spam, pr0n, etc. sent to them please. They say that they love to hear from fans, and from personal experience, they're very nice people.

BellandKei (at) aol.com

Here's an interview with them, too: http://www.angelfire.com/ne/nekointerviews/simpsons.html

Why so much consern over the Dubb ?? I'd much rather see Pioneer get the rights to this new series..... Pioneer did a great job on the domestic release of the movie... Quality I mean.... when it comes to the Dubb.... I wouldn't know...

I, too, agree that the Ova was better than the movie. Keiichi in the movie seemed too... plain. I got the movie first, and thought it was pretty good. But the Ova does a better job at conveying the relationship between Kei and Bell. The movie kinda relies on the viewer to have watched the series prior to it. As far as the VAs go, Scott does much better than the VA for the movie Keiichi, but then again, the Kei in the Ova was better anyway. I will admit though, Melissia Williamson as Urd and..whoever did Eng Sasami's voice as Skuld certainly wasnt' bad.

You can't imagine how pissed I was when I saw all of the chars in the Ova opening that were never used in the Ova. Was the Ova cut short?
