So I guess Murakami is a video producer now? This was just all kinds of weird.

So much bikini. But forget bikini. Why I blind now? See not but rainbow anymore.
Really, though. The song was nonsensical to me, which helped. And it's a good thing I can read Japanese and get all the vague references. Those helped with the enjoyment, too. I'm just not as big a fan of the style of music. |

Freaking dating sims
Heheh, just imagine playing DDR or Project Diva.
Quite sure it's nonsensical to Japanese too, but then, most j-pop are nonsensical here too. Regardless, "Happy" has been making the rounds in Japan. |

Having played and been a fan of both, they are nothing compared to this in terms of blinding rainbows...
It's nonsensical in general. For me, it can be a pro rather than a con because I can tell it's not trying to say (to my knowledge) "look at all these girls I can take advantage of!" Not all hip-hop is like that, but I've heard my fair share of it and become biased as a result, leading me to care more about the ones that aren't like that. |

I appreciate the effort put into something so goddamn creepy.
Maybe "appreciate" isn't the right word. |

My friends and I used to play DDR quite a bit 10 years back (we were tournament level competitors so we had stepcharts memorized literally had to or you didn't stand a chance against the top tier players no one finished a song with more than 10 "greats") and used to try and make sense of the ridiculous background animations. Random Engrish and all hilarious to native speakers. What the hell those designers were on when creating those beats me. There were some animations from DDR USA that actually made national news for the floating condoms and syringes they added in lol. I adore this music video. Huge fan of Superflat Monogram when it debut. I love the whole "superflat" style. And yes I'm a gigantic lolicon *points to extensive collection of Kojika merch* I remember posting here actually that I had to "hide the treasures from the girlfriend" and a Japanese message board got wind of it and quoted with tons of www's ;p |

One of the best music videos I've seen in YEARS. The visual creativity is just stunning. Cute gals too!

Not a huge fan of how young the character looks, but holy crap what a beautiful and awesomely creative music video. Song isn't half bad either.

The anime-style girl's face directly to the right of Pharrell Williams in the preview image is essentially just Ana Coppola from Strawberry Marshmallow (a.k.a. the "Gununu" face meme template girl) with a *slightly* different hairdo.
Heck, there's even a strawberry next to the Ana clone's head. I'm not sure if that's intentional or not. |
