I only want to know before this show airs, but does this really fall under shoujo-ai? Or is that just yuri-shippers' wishful thinking?

Definitely looks like it's going to have a lot of potential 'critical acclaim' or something of the like. I can't quite place my finger exactly on it, but the premise, art and tone of the show all seem to make me feel like this could end up being my favorite production of the season... If not the whole year.
Really looking forward to it and hope more people check it out. |

And I think you're either over thinking it or making a poor judgement about this show. Nothing in terms of character bios, the dialogue from the PV or the background of the show's staff indicates this has any air of yuri subtext to it. I could see accusations of moeblob thrown at it considering that there's some K-On staffers attached to the project, but IMHO it looks like it'll be a really good coming of age/slice of life type story akin to say, Tari Tari... Except maybe faster paced and more energetic and not as melodramatic. |
