Well congrats to Oshii. Truly one of the medium's all time greats, with his work on Patlabor (both the OAVs and the films) being some of my favorite anime ever; guess it's also no coincidence this happens to appear right next to the announcement of GitS finally seeing a proper blu-ray release.

And yeah, the less said about the live action Kite, the better. All I can say is it looks really cheap, and doesn't do Umetsu's stylistic flair any justice.
