Interesting story from late 2012, when they were showing the first two films and promoting them as LAWSON'S with an ichibankuji set that had a grand prize with Ultimate Madoka and several separate 2nd place prizes of each of the others with stages behind them.

The tickets were 600 yen and I had put some money away for this kind of things, so as a big fan of Madoka, I decided to buy 6 tickets. They had just started the campaign and had two of each second place prize, but all the homura ones were already gone and one of the Mami ones were gone. The rest were cell phone rubber charms and trump cards and pins and such. I gave the cashier lady the money and she told me to draw 6 little cardboard pieces from a box. I pulled the top 5 and then grabbed a final one from somewhere in the middle. I hoped for the best, but you know how these things go... It's not like all was lost, though. All the prizes were still there and I would've been happy with anything at that point. So...

First ticket. I ripped the cover off the cover of the cardboard piece:

--Sayaka figure. Like, whoa. Second place prize, right off the bat. The lady was impressed.

Second ticket:

--Mami figure. I was quite stunned. The lady had her eyes open in surprise.

Third ticket:

--Madoka figure. Voodoo foreigner magic, bebe!

Fourth ticket:

--Kyouko figure... um...?

Fifth ticket. FINALLY. My luck finally ran out. Cellphone charm. The lady at the counter pointed out to another worker that I pretty much took all but their best prize.

Except I had one ticket left. The rest is history.

I came back to my dorm room to show my roommate, who was also a fan. But he caught me first, just to tell me he won something at the ichibankuji at a nearby LAWSON'S...

"Oh, reaaaaaalllly? Then let me show YOU something first...!"

Upon seeing my nearly-complete collection, including the grande prize, he was quite speechless. He didn't say a word. He went back into his room, came out with a small bag, pulled Homura out of the bag and plopped her into my hands.

I later came across an Evangelion ichibankuji that had two prizes left, including the grande prize, so I bought the last two tickets and gave him that as a big thank you.

Visited the Yahoo Auctions--Japan site several minutes ago re Ichiban Kuji lottery items for PMMM. Much as I would love to click "Instant Decision" (aka Buy It Now in ebay parlance) on the boxes of 26 items (some of which are similar to the prizes Juno016 won) the idea of shelling out $689.00 USD plus proxy fee plus Japan Post/USPS EMS across the pond for the A, B, C, D, E, and last one PVC figure prizes I would like to acquire suggests I withhold my ardor until these collective award boxes get broken up and items get piece mealed out.

Ah, collecting. Just forgo everything else: marriage, house payments, taxes, food....LOL.

Haha. I didn't end up getting nearly all the rubber charms, but I did get lucky and spend more at the same store because I also liked the other miniature prizes. I ended up with both trump card sets and a full set of the pins (with some help from another friend, who traded doubles with me). I spent about $70 on the lottery altogether, but the cheapest price I've seen going for all of what I have is about $200, so I'd say it was very worth it. I'm sure I could get a good penny for my sets, even if they've been opened, considering I keep them in really good condition (unfortunately, I had to super-glue a piece from Sayaka, as it was poorly made and had already fallen apart inside the box before I ever opened it.
