Well, to be honest, the SF festival is just that-a festival. There isn't an actual Hanami event there since Japan Town doesn't actually have Sakura trees....although the tea garden's have a few. Just not much sadly the festival is still fun though! Albeit, ridiculously over-crowded.

Florida has the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens in Delray Beach, Florida : http://www.morikami.org/ I am not certain about a cherry blossom tree being there but it's a pretty place to visit.

I didn't do anything hanami-esque when I was there, but I was in DC at the peak of the cherry blossoms when I was there and they were so gorgeous.

FYI - The trees in the Japanese Garden at the Fort Worth Botanical Garden are in full bloom, but not for much longer. We had some pretty hard rain over the weekend and the petals have begun to fall. They might last through this coming weekend, but probably not long after.
