Ah wow, this brought back nice memories from the last time I was in Tokyo. I also visited the Meiji Shrine and Takeshita street on the same day, and walked past the same places. I think I also ate some incredibly small and pricey pizza with friends at a restaurant on Takeshita.

For anyone interested in shrines or historical Japanese structures, I'd really recommend visiting Nara, especially to go see the Daibutsu statue. I've lived and traveled to a good number of places, and I'd say the Daibutsu is one of the most amazing things I've ever seen.

I have never understood why there are doilies in cabs in Japan? Is there a reason besides making the cabs all nice and proper? How in the world did doilies become associated with cab interiors in the first place? So confused. Question

I am loving the Nerd Tour pics and commentary. Keep it coming guys!

i also really enjoy reading the Nerd tour. Normally these things don't sit to well with me but i quite enjoy Nerd tour and the pics and commentary really sit well (i like the "realistic" writing style).
