just wondering, what are the first impressions of the movie of Black Butler? was it well received?
not really a big fan of the series but if the movie ends up being good I may give it a try someday when I got the oportunity .x |

I'm curious about this too. I haven't seen a lot of people talking about it. I'd like to check it out eventually, even with the changes. Mizushima Hiro, y'know.

The fact that they have changes Black Butler's master from male to female is pathetic.
I could understand that they would want to up the age of the master to avoid any paedophilia innuendo, but changing sex of the master is sign that mass public still can not accept homosexual innuendo, which is perfectly moral and fine from humanistic morals. (Personally, I do not care about all those innuendos, the stories of Black Butler were interesting to me anyway, but we have to look at big picture of what the society is and how it perceives certain subjects and themes, how mature it is.) |

According to this summary (WARNING FOR SPOILERS) spoiler[it really does look like they changed the roles to precisely get away with not just innuendo, but what looks like flat-out romance? The fact this happened at all is bad (whether it be the real Ciel or this femme OC version), but I agree with you on how them potentially changing his sex to shy away from homosexual display is worse. While I enjoy casually reading the manga, I've never been the biggest fan of Black Butler so I'm not really invested in it or anything, but from the looks of that summary I'm disappointed with how they decided to go with this movie. Beyond the story itself (which I'll try and give the benefit of the doubt should I ever see this movie), it sort of reads like a play for a Seb/"Ciel" fic, and them changing him to a girl only goes to highlight this. Just NO at that ending. I seriously freaking hope that doesn't happen in the manga.] |

I hope it flops, but I doubt it. They totally fucked everything over. It shouldn't even be called Black Butler.

Good or bad, I'm usually the type of person who watches live action adaptions of anime I've watched, but hearing how they removed Sebastian and his relationship with Ciel really lame. |

okay, so you're just assuming.... imo we should take the movie as an alternative story, maybe even with all the changes it ends up being a very god movie, who knows? |
