I say in terms of merchandising for decades, yes, it's been like that for years though this is a first we get something on a pre-school level that is of Doraemon's lineage surely (or Anpanman).
So this is like Franklin or Arthur in that respect (Canadians really milked that stuff for what it's worth). |

After reading this, this is a weird alteration of Astro Boy. Oh boy, and we US fans complain about how we radically altered anime in the past, but reading this. How many people are complaining over this??

I can't imagine anyone complaining. It's only been 11 years since the last show. We could've had to wait another ten before another Astro Boy series. We could've gotten nothing, but here comes this adorable show with a cute Astro baby and a plethora of the franchise's characters returning.

Aw Astro looks so cute. I have to say I think this is a decent idea for a show staring Astro. Rock has to be the spoiled brat that always tries to get the other kids in trouble!
