I had the misfortune of seeing the Midori anime a few weeks ago. This sucker's definitely sick.

Awesome! Great recommendation. Panorama Island is in my top 10 manga releases for the year.
Now if only I could own Laughing Vampire by Suehiro Maruo.. |

The Strange Tale of Panorama Island novel is also available in English also having come out earlier this year.
http://www.uhpress.hawaii.edu/p-8758-9780824837037.aspx I'm so pleased that several of Rampo's works have come into English editions over the past several years. Great stuff and often referenced in anime and manga. |

I miss that crude and sloppy and in-your-face weird. Anyway, I'll have to give these both a read, especially since this is the second time in recent memory I've heard folks talk about 'em. |

Why do Shaenon's columns still have Jason's text at the bottom?

I have a book showcasing different manga artists and Suehiro is one of the ones interviewed. His art is as impressive as it is disturbing.
