I kinda like that concept with the dark story. Should be interesting.

Additions/clarifications/missed stuff in this article:
1) Might want to mention that Yasuko Kobayashi also does a lot of Tokusatsu work (since GARO is originally Tokusatsu), including being head writer for Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon (which I know is in the Encyclopedia to be linked), Kamen Rider Den-O, Samurai Sentai Shinkenger, and a single episode of GARO: Makai Senki (series 2) 2) While your description does describe the first series of GARO, Kouga was the main character of the first two series, not just the first. 3) While Togen no Fue may have been initially released latest, it was released mid-season for Yami o Terasu Mono (series 3), and was even out on DVD/BD before the series finished airing. 4) Yes, Anime News Network, but surprised that while you were at it, you didn't mention the other two major announcements on your source page, which is that we have date/name for the ZERO series (<ZERO> -Black Blood-; March 8 and 23 for the first 2 volumes), and Makai no Hana, a fourth TV series starring Raiga Saeijima, Kouga's son (which will, hopefully, explain why Ryuga had the armor in Yami o Terasu Mono). |

Personally, I hope they disregard Yami o Terasu Mono entirely, given that it felt like an alternate universe more than any sort of sequel. So much of the lore established in the previous series/movies was different, as well as the general Horror designs, so it would make sense (not to mention the absolutely horrendous acting, but that has nothing to do with plot).
As for this anime, this is something that could actually work really well as an anime, so hopefully it will be good. |

There was also a movie announced that's based off the third series. Source: http://herotaku.com/blog/1/entry-10300-so-much-more-garo-an-anime-a-movie-and-black-blood |

The TV show is awesome, reminds me of Karas. With a good team, this could make a great adaption.
Here's a trailer for the original series if anyone cares: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_MNMy02hY-Y |

Guys... Please remember that this is "Anime" News Network. ANN tries to get out anime announcements as top priority as quickly as possible to their viewers. Also, there are so many series, spin-offs, and movies of Garo, that the description of the series can't cover every single one. It's just to give viewers who haven't experienced Garo a taste of what the project is like. It's not to write an entire encyclopedia about Garo. |
