Yay, it's here! I can't wait to see how this season turns out to be. I'm excited for series like Kill la Kill, KnK 2, Machine-doll, Kyoukai no Kanata, LB: Refrain, etc.
I've also been reading the manga for Coppelion so looking forward to it next week as well. |

I remember back when this was postponed shortly after the earthquake/tsunami back in 2011 being really disappointed, although it's not like it wasn't justified to bench it for a while. So i'm glad to see it's back now, hopefully it's as good as I hoped it'd be back 2 1/2 years ago.

Oh, I didn't know GoHands was involved in this! Mm, I expect a lot of bloom-lighting and general purtiness from this.
It's kind of cool to see that even though the characters are all wearing school uniforms, the uniforms are distinct enough to imply that they each might've come from different schools. Those Ozu sisters(?) seem to be the only deranged ones in the cast-- could their mental state have been affected or exacerbated by all the radiation around them? |

I'm really looking forward to copellion I like sci-fi anime in general so I'm glad there are a few again this season. My all time favorite science fiction anime is still probably No. 6 from a few years back as I thought they handled the relationship between Rat and Shion well.I wonder what other anime will be part of the spotlight? I really do appreciate it every season as it always gives me a more in depth look of the shows.

I like how it tells us so much about the characters, like how they have names.
Well, at least we can infer that the Ozu sisters have some sort of mental imbalance, although I should hope that there's more to them than that. And it's a little off to bill that as an, "exclusive subtitled trailer," given that it' was released four weeks ago and isn't much different from one that was released in early august and... uh... well, I suppose that the translation of the release date of, "October 2013," count a subtitle. Sorry, sorry, I'm being a jerk. Regardless, I am pretty excited about this. I'm curious about how it might have been changed in light of the Fukushima Daiichi incident that killed it's original release, which I suspect might be why the spotlight is rather taciturn. It looks like it could be a very cool show. A few people seem to really like the manga and the premise does appeal to me. I wonder if they'll justify why three high school girls, specifically, were sent on this mission or just wink past that. I'd probably remain suspicious of the rationalization, but it would be more interesting if they tried and I might give points for effort. |

AND they have voice actors/actresses Not particularly looking forward to this one but I'll at least check it out, I generally like GoHands. Also, that Maaya Sakamoto is playing a character with a deranged face grants that I at least watch one or two episodes |

What's the reliance of them wearing school uniforms?

It's relevant because whenever there's an explosion, their skirts will conveniently go Marilyn Monroe

Hmm I was afraid you'd say that, I feel like I would be immune to this by now.

So the gals are going back to rescue peeps who have been trapped in the contaminated city ... for decades??? Er, better late than never, I guess. Anyhoo, I'll check 'er out. The fact that the series director is the dude who did Mardock Scramble is a plus for me.
By the way, I don't know if I'm the only one experiencing this, but this discussion thread does not give me a link to the Spotlight at the top. |

I know how you feel...Normally this sort of thing doesn't bother me, but right now I feel the biggest question I have is why they sent them out in skirts instead, say, full body armor. I think this despite the fact that they're sending out teenagers barely even registers on me as odd. |

High school girls in school uniforms...already some major points against coppelion...
although at least they are presented in a context that would never ha e anything to do with high school girls...but that could count as points against it as well... |

Unless I've conveniently forgotten, there wasn't anything like that in the manga. |

They are teenagers because teenage protagonists are the anime standard. I doubt it occurred to them to feature adults.
They are in school uniforms because the Japanese (or at least those making anime) are unable to imagine teenagers in anything else. Look at Bodacious Space Pirates. The show is supposed to take place in the far future and a number of light years away from Earth. The girls are still in school uniforms that would not be out of place in current Tokyo. The main character even has her uniform under the pirate outfit. |
