Oh wow, an English-speaking actor in a Japanese Ghibli film dub! And this guy's got a track record with Ghibli movies, too!

Exciting, ain't it? Very Happy

Oh my god this looks so great. I really cannot wait to see this film. It looks like there's a very diverse range of characters as well!

Is it just me, or is the character art a little more simplified than previous Miyazaki (and Ghibli) films? I'm probably just losing my marbles, but I've really noticed it since watching Howl's Moving Castle and From Up on Poppy Hill, when contrasted to stuff like Mononoke. Either way, very excited for this, and can't wait to watch it.

Also, Honjo looks a bit like Ferrari from Porco Rosso. Coincidence? Smile

Steve Alpert got well-known among Ghibli fandom back when Princess Mononoke was getting brought over, since that was the first time in years since the Warriors of the Wind issue left Miyazaki disillusioned with porting over his films, and Mr. Alpert was quite instrumental in settling down the fan apprehension. He even posted a diary of the then-ongoing English production:

So he's been with Ghibli for a long while.

A Ghibli only store!!? Such a wonderful thing exists!!!? Man, I sure hope they eventually bring it to EPCOT Japan, that would be wonderful! I mean, Ghibli and Disney are friends so they (Studio Ghibli) can take advantage and bring in a Ghibli store to a theme park that's all about Global Cultures and use it to promote their product. I wouldn't have known anything about Studio Ghibli if it weren't for Disney showing "Kiki's Delivery Service" on Toon Disney all those years ago so how about opening a store in EPCOT Japan, to make more people aware of Ghibli's greatness, and if it works out bring in a miniature Studio Ghibli museum and put it in EPCOT Japan as well.

Hm. Miyazaki really misses pre-war Japan. It will be a terrific film I'm sure but I think it's time to let it go.
