Attack on Titan, Magi, and Assassination Classroom all on here huh. Very nice. I'm glad Magi returned this week also and I'm hoping sometimes in the future that Assassination Classroom gets an anime adaptation.

Ahhhh, I got hooked on Assassination Classroom recently and it worked a heck of a lot better than I expected, would love to see it turned into an anime soon as well.

My goodness, Assassination Classroom is brushing up against Naruto in sales.

And Hunter x Hunter is in 5th place. I know it won't last, since it's not on a regular release schedule, but still.

My day is made.

Also, I clearly need to start reading Terra ForMars.

And Assassination Classroom doesn't even have an anime yet. It's going to shoot up the chart when it finally gets one but it should be a while before that happens.

The premise of Assassination Classroom sounds so great. I'm just waiting for VIZ to bring it over. (...Which they hopefully will. Can't think of a reason why they wouldn't.)

This list definitely shows the strength of certain publishers in Japan, too. Shueisha dominating, with Shogakukan and Kodansha right behind.

Magi getting number 2? The fact that it's so high is... Disappointing. There are better manga out there, and especially Shonen Sunday manga.

Wow, Naruto has really fallen. I remember the days when nothing could top it for the #2 spot.

To be fair, the ones that did all have the benefit of being newer anime series so they get inflated by all the new fans who go buy Volumes 1 through current. It happened with One Piece when it sold 38 million volumes in a year awhile back then the following year it dropped significantly since most people were all caught up. Naruto is still #2 if you look at individual volume sales, though.

^ Very true.

To compare different series' selling power, it's better to use the ranking by volume sales because the ranking by series can be biased depending on the number of volumes released in the time period for a given series but also depending on how 'fresh' a series is : as you mention more recent titles will usually sell more of their backlog especially if they get an anime.

#1 is obvious but always nice to see it there.
The drop from last year is understandable since there is only 1 vol is out for the entire 6 mos.
Vol 69 has yet to break 3mil. Surprise and disappointed.

Nice to see Magi, SnK (thought it was gonna be higher), hiatusxhunter and kuroko in the top 5. Can't wait for the next magi ch.

Naruto at #6 was expected. Assclass gonna catchup when the anime comes out. Same goes for silver spoon and terra formars

Is it just me or do naruto and fairy tail sales seem to drop gradually every year?

Amazing Hunter x Hunter can still chart without so much as a chapter in almost a year.
