Well, that's good for Australia. I'm still bitter that Viz didn't finish releasing the show in America, though.

Oh maybe I'll import it then, I think I will wait and see though if HBO's adaption of Monster is popular enough for Viz to start releasing the anime/manga again (I really hope so).

Is the English track going to be the Viz dub or new AU dub?
The chances that the AU release will be region-free is probably zero, but there's always hope. |

^ It will be the Viz/Salami Studios dub. No Australian anime distribution company produces English dubs (except the rare occasional Madman has helped fund a couple). Viz dubbed the whole show for Syfy, but only released 13 episodes of it on DVD.

It was fifteen. I know, I have that set. And it still burns me up that Viz didn't release anymore. But I guess it didn't sell well enough. |

If its a dvd plenty of dvd players can be hacked to play all regions. If its blu ray or you don't have one of the models you can hack then any computer can play all regions. Region locking is not as big a deal anymore as it was with VHS. |

Good on 'em. I'll be importing the heck out of this.
Maybe they can get Full Moon o Sagashite, and Corrector Yui, and ... um ... how many times has Viz screwed over their customers with partial releases? |

Wait a minute: when it says original Japanese soundtrack, does it mean the licensed songs?
(Al Green, The Ronettes, etc.) EDIT:
Okay, now I'm confused. |

Congrats to Siren Visual for having the balls to take a chance for getting this out. Thanks Viz for dropping the ball on those that actually cared about wanting this series. Now I'll never be able to finish watching this series. Also, no thanks to the POOR sales.

Dennou Coil, Tatami Galaxy, Kaiba, Mononoke, Chihayafuru, and now Monster?
Yeah, Siren Visual is easily my favorite English language anime distributor/licensee. |

That list is actually pretty impressive... Haven't followed this at all, but now I'm paying attention. EDIT: Okay, don't wanna go through the whole hack my mac thing, so I'm probably just gonna import a blu-ray player that reads BDs/DVDs from the region... Anyone know where I should start? EDIT EDIT: Yeah, I'm not gonna lie... Their release list is pretty glorious: http://www.sirenvisual.com.au/Catalogue/Genre/anime.php Last edited by DKL on Fri May 17, 2013 12:15 pm; edited 1 time in total |
