Not really, its 3 episodes for the same price most series sell 2 for, and its below the Manabi line. It only looks like its doing well since Neko and GJ-Bu were the only two significant new releases this week.

Wow. I am not surprised that Nekomonogatari (Black) is number one, but that is a lot of copies sold.

The Monogatari series always sells well in general, even the parts that are complete crap (cough...Nise...cough), so it's no surprise that when series is good (like Nekomonogatari) it's going to sell very well. But yeah, that's still a crazy amount of copies regardless.
I'm very glad that even after a few years of the show being around, Spice and Wolf is in the top 5 selling! Hopefully this gives Brains Base the motivation to continue the franchise.

It's only that high because relatively few power hits were released this week. Release it during more a more congested week and this rerelease would barely rank.

I think you're not really giving the credit to the release.
It's a complete series set for $440, so that's $811,800 in 1st week sales for a show that has already been released before, not a new show.
Quite a return don't you think?
