I agree. Something about the film stuck with me. I can't really explain it but it's a really nice feeling. Not a lot of films stick with me anymore.

Thank God that shitty One Piece movie didn't win anything. Hope Brave doesn't win anything either. That movie is the 3rd worst Pixar movie. If Brave wins, then I'll be facepalming all day. If Toy Story 3, the rare case couldn't win, then Brave has no chance in hell.

Excuse me? I could barely understand what you just said, so could you rephrase that for me? Also, Brave and One Piece Strong World are shitty anime. One Piece has art, which makes Problm Solverz blush in shame and like 99.9% of all Japanese animation, it freaking uses limited animation for a feature length. Also, the plot stinks, the characters suck and overall it's just a worse version of Dragon Ball. Brave, while not nearly as vile as One Piece, has mediorce art, horrible voice acting, poor writing, poor plot and rips off Disney movies poorly. Also, most people on here agree with me that Brave sucks.

What, what Brave are you talking about? Surely you don't mean Academy Award Winner: Brave, from Pixar Studios (2012)? Awkward story and confused moral lessons aside, the film was still gorgeous and exceedingly well acted even with the accents. And whether it deserves it or not, or whether film critics hold the Oscars in any kind of esteem, winning one cements its validity among the public more so than any other award it could be gifted.

And nobody was surprised. Glat it won though, I have nothing against long running franchise movies, I enjoy quite a few of them myself, but in the animation department they tend to pale in comparaison to anime movies made by the 'big names' of the industry.

Next's year competition will be more interesting since both Miyazaki and Takahata's new upcoming movies should be nominated. I still think Miyazaki will get it in the end but who knows.

Hopefully, the Japanese won't award it the Academy Prize, since the rare case didn't win either, which is odd, since Toy Story has the single greatest trilogy in film, with each effort outdoing the last, which is a feat, since Toy Story 1995 is a masterpiece and it got outdone by 2, which is a masterpiece, which got outdone by 3, which was amazing beyond words. Even Totoro was there! Laughing It was also massive in Japan, grossing over $127,000,000 there ALONE which is only surpassed by Ghibli films as one of the highest grossing anime films in Japan, critically lauded over there, one of the best selling anime other there and it still didn't win. If a legendary trilogy had no chance, how could a weaker movie do what Toy Story 3 couldn't?

Hi,

I'm a bit confused. So who won "Rookie of the Year" award?

Emi Takei
Fumi Nikaido
Ai Hashimoto
Shota Sometani
Shim Chang-Min
Masahiro Higashide
Tori Matsuzaka

Thanks!
