Sounds like it's set in a world where kayfabe is greatly enforced.

On the note of Edwyn, he made this interesting post on his Facebook wall:

While I probably won't be taking advantage of the Kick-Heart opportunity due to how close the recording date is and how I can't secure tickets and days off work in that span of time, it was nice feeling that I was halfway competent enough to appear in an official fandub where I wouldn't be paid any monies!

Ding ding. Everybody aboard the depression traaaaaaaaaaaaaain.

That...sounds like a raw deal. Now I don't know the full details, but it sounds to me like it was a non-paying dub offer that he'd have to pay his own fare to LA to record for.

Uh. Well. "Congrats to the winners" indeed. Anime dazed

Pretty sure they're going to have to recast at least half of the people chosen. Most of them jumped the gun and didn't read the rules and stipulations well enough ):

Oh well. This wasn't for an official dub anyway. Hence why it wasn't paid nor were they providing transportation to the recording studio (which they wouldn't do for paid actors either) It was just an optional audio track on the DVD release, I think.

Absolutely. It was completely known ahead of time.

If your friend doesn't have the faculty to read information and decipher it correctly then that is quite unfortunate. It was made known to all here: https://sites.google.com/site/kickheartppal/backer-dub-auditions

Rules and Regulations

The winner(s) must provide their own transportation to the recording studio in Burbank, California.
The winner(s) must be a backer of (any amount) of the Kick-heart project. You can become a backer by visiting out Paypal page!
This is considered "pro-bono" work in support of the Kick-heart project and we cannot offer any compensation for the work. You will receive an IMDB credit and a mention on our website.

This isn't the official English dub (which will be done by Richard Epcar and those at Epcar Entertainment). This is just something for fans. Why your friend would go ahead and audition when he knew that he could not make it to the location at the date required (and without any compensation) completely baffles me. And then to go ahead and post it on Facebook? And then to have you repost it on here?

Like I said: I didn't have the full information on the project. It's unfortunate for him that he didn't see the information ahead of time or maybe he did, auditioned anyway, and a financial situation came up that made him unable to make the trip, which might more account for his sadness in the statement.

I re-posted it because I thought it was curious information, and it was certainly new to me, and unusual for any kinda project, really. That's all.
