I think they're rushing production of this series (and I expect there will be many more games to come) because One Piece is so popular. I didn't really like the first game (it got old really fast) and just adding more content is probably the only thing they're going to be doing (like every Gundam Musou game). On a side note, how can they set this game in the New World when they just got there in the manga? Perhaps they will make a bunch of crap up and call it filler.

Didn't play the first, but I'm assuming they must have skipped the Skypiea arc?
And now they are rushing into the New World arc when they isn't really a great deal of material to cover? CASH-IN ALERT!!! |

With the first game, there was story material that was skipped (Alvida/Captain Morgan, Captain Kuro/Usopp's Village, Rougetown, Whiskey Peak, Little Garden, Skypiea, Davy Back Fight, Thriller Bark, etc.,), characters that were completely omitted from story arcs that the game was covering, and the playable character roster was laughable considering how huge the One Piece world is. There's definitely plenty of incentive to make a richer One Piece experience, but I'm not expecting much since it is Omega Force we're talking about here. Pirate Warriors was disappointing in both its single player and co-op experiences. While the platforming sequences were a refreshing change of pace, they were tacked on, unpolished, and rushed. The game practically holds your hand most of the time in those sequences. Either refine it or do away with it entirely.
While I'm not expecting much changes in terms in gameplay, I do expect more content to play through and a better multiplayer experience. Hopefully, Ganbarion will announce a One Piece game of their own soon as well. |

They skipped a lot of stuff in the first one. They could just go back and let us play as other characters (Marines\admirals\shichibukais\ect), add in all the arcs that were skipped on top it. Then they could do the Return to shabondy (They could make some levels out of that even if it was short) Fishman island and maybe even punk hazard if they are going to follow the manga. Not to mention improving on the combat system... So yeah there is plenty of stuff they could do. |
