I hope the NA Xbox release is still gonna happen. I don't have a PS3.

Japanese doesn't want to touch Xbox360 even with a 50 ft pole. It's that miserable. It's even been outsold by a 10 year old obsolete console PS2.

From what I understand VGChartz isn't the most reliable place to check on game sales numbers, but according to it CoD: MW3 (only counting the XBox 360 sales) and Gear of War 3 have both sold more than Idolmaster 2 on XBox 360 in Japan. Both of them were released around half a year after Idolmaster 2.

Xbox 360 = Otaku system in Japan. They've had a hard time shaking that image. The big issue now is that it's come to a point where retailers in Japan have decided to reduce space for it or stop selling it entirely.

In more uplifting Japanese 360 news, it turns out Dodonpachi Saidaioujou will be ported to it next year, despite rumors to the contrary, so that's neat - although further proof of what a NERDS ONLY console it is over there.

Pshh, who plays the 360 for Japanese games anyway. I don't mind this development, especially when the PS3 is more reliable in terms of not breaking or having strange bugs. Japan aren't too big on playing it either so *shrug*.

That's quite ironic given that in the US the 360 is probably seen as more the Bro system to the at least relatively nerd oriented PS3.

I would think it has to do with the gun otaku in japan that like playing those type of games.

Everyone. When this generation first started, anyway. Not wanting to 360 to bomb in Japan like the first Xbox did, Microsoft went all out hiring/funding/whatever Japanese companies to make tons of 360 exclusive JRPGs for the 360. Enchanted Arms, Trusty Bell: Chopin's Dream/Eternal Sonata, Star Ocean: The Last Hope, The Last Remnant, Tales of Vesperia, Blue Dragon. They even fought tooth and nail to get a 360 version of Final Fantasy 13 because they knew how big it was going to be.

The system still died in Japan anyway, so 99% of those games were ported over to the PS3 (most with new bonus content) anyway.. but for a time, it was the system to go to if you wanted JRPGs. Nowadays that would be the PS3, with all the new Tales and other JRPGs.

I know the article says that only the Japanese release is cancelled but I was hoping that the NA release doesn't follow suit.

Oh well i still own my JP 360 and a PS3 but i think its more so that Microsoft is not trying anymore. There or here i mean the only good games to get on it state side are fps and if your like me and hate them then the 360 is geting old. The good games for it in japan i love are monster hunter frontier onechanbara z kagura and strike witches wings of silver Very Happy
