maybe this means we can get a second season with a conclusion since the source material is going to end.

Didn't the R-15 anime sell rather poorly in Japan? With the manga ended, that would eliminate another possible reason for a second anime.

It would be nice to have a second season. But yes it sold very poorly so there's no chance. It was mentioned in one news article about how it lost money
