With all the Takao Saito titles JManga has, I'm surprised Golgo 13 isn't one of them.

I have to wonder, is there anyone in the US manga audience that was actually wishing for more of those Harlequin manga adaptations? I know a few of them got published in print over here, but to me it seems a bit superfluous, as Harlequin novels are pretty much a dime a dozen (quite literally, if you get them used). Not to mention that based on the titles that come up in these announcements, they are not picking the most current and/or progressive titles. No, these are the old-school, alpha male and weepy weak-willed heroine bearing, semi-rapey love scened, secret-baby-carrying, stereotype-laden titles that are not only cliche as hell anymore, but positively offensive to the modern reader.

I just feel that the space those titles are taking up could be used by ANYTHING else that would likely be far more interesting.

We don't know the licensing and royalty agreements; it could be that JManga gets a bigger cut of Harlequin sales. Though I really do wish they'd flood the catalog with yuri for a change.

Some of those sound like ecchi titles that we would watch in Japan. Laughing
