Once upon a time, Cartoon Network would probably have pounced on this show for Toonami (Saturday night version)...

It worked well for sales in the market at the time you just needed to know the right time to get out of it.
Short term launch and gains pay off if managed correctly.
And this would have been a good move my CN had they retained the block but there is no way AS will be picking this up, especially when they continue to drop their anime line-up to an extent. Sure, Bleach will hold for some time but eventually it will get replaced by cheaper reruns of other shows like they did by adding King of the Hill to the weekly block I think...how long ago...been awhile.
Why, because they do realize the stronger demographic is in Seth's works where there are US references considering its the major fanbase of FOX, TBS, AS ect.

The ad they played on the Nick site had an interview with the crew. They said "it's your little brother's monster show all grown up" to which I reply wtf?

Yu-Gi-Oh had people trying to cut limbs off with buzzsaws and people being burned alive and all kinds of other death traps. If this is darker then that I'd be surprised, I didn't think Nickelodeon allowed any kind of violence when you look at their few action cartoons like Butt Ugly Martians and Avatar. Monster anime in Japan can get brutally dark. I don't think Nick really has the guts to go that far.

This is a Nickelodoen show, though (according to wiki) , so there's no way it'd end up on Cartoon Network.

I prefer the scene Kaiba stabs that one guy with a card, and disarms another guy's handgun myself.

And maybe they mean the butchered dubs or something, though I do doubt it. I don't even know what kind of monster show this is suppose to be copying, the preview didn't show much.

I was refering to the competition that Nick would have probably dealt with if they were still into gaining anime series and focusing on partnering/licensing versus making much of their own content now of days. Since according to my knowledge it is JAKKS Pacific that started this idea but paired with Nick/Viacom to produce it rather then would have possibly paired with CN/Turner in creating.
Probably because Nick has more national control than does CN in retrospect.
