I've owned a PSP for I'd say about 4 years now. And in all that time I have only bought one game for it.

This Black Rock Shooter game will be the second.

Now onto hoping that the OVAs and upcoming anime series get licenced over here as well. If that happens, I will be one happy little camper. Anime smallmouth

Alright that's cool. It's a Japanese game I always wanted to check out but to lazy to ever look out for it. Just hope popular voice actors like Laura Bailey don't become the voices, getting kinda tired of hearing all the same voices actors in all my games Mad .

Having Japanese voices is definitely concerned, but my thoughts are more of if they'll over a limited edition with a Figma like the Japanese release.

BRS is not going to be something for "gameplay".

Similar to how the OVA is not something for "plot".

NIS America usually does PS3 Games Japanese/Eng audio but being that his one is a PSP release that may be not possible due to limited UMD capacity unles they go digital only.

Regarding the figma you could try asking

Awesome, NIS does real good work when it comes to their game releases, so I'm not worried about the game itself, but I know the PSP is starting to reach the end of its lifespan in the US, so I wonder what impact it could have in a dying market.

Nope. They have dual audio on their PSP games too. ZHP, Disgaea, you name it, it probably has dual audio. NISA's obsessed with Dual Audio.

Got my copy this morning so I'm gonna be checking it out. Between this, Fate/ Extra, both Dissidas, FF:IV Complete, GEB...I'm gonna kill my PSP.

Well, the game being post-apocalyptic certainly bodes well for the anime. Looks like the moe high school stuff will be contained mainly in flashbacks and the new properties will focus mainly on the best part of the OVA: the ACTION!

But that being said, I don't own a PSP so I probably won't ever play the game...

BRS is a very popular character. As far as I know, this is the first BRS related thing that has been licensed in NA... so I have little doubt that the game will do well.

As for voices, I'm actually curious to see who they would put as an an English actor for these characters. However I would like to see an option to switch between audio. If there are DS games that can do that, then a PSP should be more than capable.

I've been playing the japanese version and combat pretty much boils down to just hitting square to shoot. Dodge/blocking atks is trivial if you can shoot down most low lvl mobs fast. There's like only one difference during a boss fight, once u drain their HP, it becomes a button mash to fill a gauge. Unless I havn't gotten very far in the game, I would call the gameplay very simplistic, nothing complex. Overall it would be a rental worthy game instead of day one purchase imo, unless NISA decides to throw in some nice bonuses.
