I never noticed it before, but wow, just look at the font they used for the author's name on the cover...

14 Years?!?!

It's probably the lousiest sex-ed "educational" material ever published. Takes the "inexperienced couple" 14 years to conceive. Just how inexperienced were they? Razz

On a (slightly) serious note, I wonder if the author will ever go back to shonen stories. I liked Psychic Academy~it worked as a mediocre manga remashing of X-Men. How long can a guy write the same echhi story before he decides to try something new? (Unless it's super-popular in Japan or something, but having read a few chapters I'm surprised it even has fans. Razz)

"Manga Sutra." Ugh. Such a terrible name change. That and the cover makes it look like you're getting an actual manga version of the Kama Sutra, which is of course not the case at all. It's too bad, because it means a lot of people who would enjoy this manga are going to end up ignoring it, while others will buy it and be disappointed when it turns out to be something other than what the cover would imply.

Which also makes me wonder if those publishers know what it is that they're actually selling....

For a series which was pretty tame by today's standards-or so I hear-in terms of content, I think Tokyopop did the best it could in marketing the manga. Especially when there clearly wasn't the same market for it in the U.S. as there is in Japan.

So folks who buy a translated version of Nana to Kaoru (if it ever exists in any form in the future) are gonna be pissed at the fact that there is no hardcore S&M?

Manga Sutra..LOL. I had no idea this was about Futari Ecchi, but the horrible title got me curious.

Seconded. How many volumes did they actually release? I saw 3 (I think) around for a while but then they seemed to all vanish, long before TP stopped for good.

Typical anime fans probably don't even know what Kama Sutra is! Laughing

(Hint: it's not moe.)

I've got four volumes of "Manga Sutra" on one of my shelves. The v4 release date (according to what TRSI had on the book's page) was 6 Jan '09. They shipped my copy to me on 5 Jan, and it arrived at my doorstep on 13 Jan '09.

I have a vol. One of my favorite series. Wish it were all translated. Germany already released up to vol. 48 the last I checked.
Wish I could read german, or Japanese for that matter.
