The "new" Akira is the Honneamise remaster from a few years ago with the nice cleanup and the over-the-top sampling frequency (I'm guessing they probably won't be playing it at 192kHz). It's "new" because the BD never got an official Manga-branded release in the UK, only imports. Hopefully they'll show Redline from BD too, the showing a few weeks ago at the Barbican was from a DVD, and suffered from some nasty blocking in the fast-motion scenes*.


*It's Redline. This means EVERY scene.
