Yeah! Keep busting the records Luffy Pirates! Very Happy

I'm somewhat surprised One Piece hasn't become an international hit yet (I blame the somewhat bland first 100 episodes and the initially off-putting wacky visual style). If the world ever does stop to smell the roses, they'll find a series that starts mediocre can not only improve exponentially beyond expectations, but wildly beyond the most epic imaginings. You will believe that chickens can fly! Cool

well I'm pretty sure 4kids killed any chance of the anime getting popular over here.

I'd hardly consider the Arlong arc, Drum Island, and Alabasta to be bland. I think since Oda upscaled both the drama and action by the time Water Seven came around, the series has been doing better than ever. I also think the departure from the frequent somber stories in the earlier parts since then boosted its popularity. I like that One Piece likes to explore alot of aspects in its storyline than just strictly sticking to shounen cliches. Yes, the cliches are mostly there for a genre that sticks with it works best with, but One Piece really does have its "wow" moments. Evidence being the conclusion of the War....and Luffy's past (which this volume explores).

I'd bet the next volume of One Piece wouldn't top the previous volume.......................... for obvious reasons.............

No broadcaster, foreign or otherwise, would put up waiting thru 100 episodes unless they have to. Even Funimation initially skipped straight to DBZ because Dragonball's ratings wouldn't keep it alive until it gets to DBZ.

Sorry, I meant the next volume coming out, which is #62, to be clear.

I'd bet the next volume (#62) of One Piece wouldn't top the previous volume (#61).......................... for obvious reasons.............

Most of Europe and the Far Eastern Countries don't seem to have a problem with that. One Piece has enjoyed considerable success in Germany, France, Italy, Korea.

Actually they didn't killed it. they completely obliterate it and thensome. I'm just glad their finally getting the justice they deserve.

Hopefully the funimation dubs will be able to repair what 4kids destroyed, but a return to CN would help the series a lot lot more.

That's what turned me off as well. Now, I actually enjoy the show but like you said, just skip the first few episodes.....say, skip to the Arlong Arc. That's where I found out that Oda knows how to build up a fight very well.

Oh, and I'll stick to the anime. I don't read scanlations or censored manga *cough* Shonen Jump *cough*.
