I was hoping for them to get arrested for stealing those K-ON! guitars and character figures.

Prisoner #1: So what are you in here for?

Prisoner #2: I stole a bunch of K-ON! character figures. I got Yui, Ritsu, Mio, Mugi, and Asuza. I even got Yui's Heritage Sunburst Gibson Les Paul!
Too bad I got caught though. Sad

Prisoner #1: Very Happy

Prisoner #2: Are you smiling because you like K-ON! too?

Prisoner #1: No, I'm smiling because I just found out I have a new girlfriend! Twisted Evil

So they got caught off their thefts of supermarkets not K-On....
If they didn't do that, they would never have been caught.

At 17 and 18 these kids are probably well on the path to being career criminals. I hope they throw the book at them and keep them off the streets for as long as possible.

Never looked into this story before, but this part -

Quote:
The guitars and 22 figures that were stolen were all given by fans...

That's pretty cool.

Wow, that's just really sad. I know that K-ON! is popular and all but that doesn't mean you have to steal the merchandise.

Reminds me of what my fourth grade teacher once said "if you can't do the time, don't do the crime." Another famous quote was "every action has a consequence good or bad."

Well these two kids now have a criminal record that will stay with them with the rest of their lives and it will never, ever disappear. I wonder what their parents think of this? Having a criminal record never looks good on a resume.

But I must say, I feel bad for their parents. It's likely that they are blaming themselves for this, even though the 18 year old probably knew what he was doing all along. But hey, if that is how they want to spend the rest of their lives, that is their choice. For their sakes though, hope they don't regret it when they much older.

How philosophical of your 4th grade teacher. Very deep stuff.

(I think you meant "if you can't do the time, don't do the crime")

Correct. And you guessed it, although I don't remember what happened, she said that because someone in class was acting like a idiot or doing something they shouldn't have. She was a nice teacher for the most part, but I (probably among others) thought she was too strict at times and unforgiving as well.

It's tricky to know what to do for the best in this situation. Being so young, maybe they should get a spanking. Nothing too harsh, over the knee, trousers off, underwear optional. Just until the skin breaks or maybe until they draw an apologetic tear.

Not for minors. The age of majority in Japan is 20.
And they'll probably just get suspended sentences. Many even more serious crimes in Japan still just get suspended sentences. Confused
