Considering how popular the PSP platform is with girls in Japan, this doesn't come at a surprise.
Well girls, if you realy want this game localized in North America(and you happened to have a PSP laying around), than I suggest you go here: http://www.nisamerica.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=31&sid=f1c6901ff6107e27320b425c2ff53529 That takes you to the "Request Section" of the NISA forums. (You need to a account to post anything first) NISA is the licensing firm of Nippon Echii Software. They publish RPG games like Disgaea, Makai Kingdoms, etc straight from Japan. From time to time, they localize games their fans desire, just so long as there enough is fan-support to back it up. |

The PSP Popular?? With anyone?? Dude what world do you live in? The PSP is a waste of a console. The only game that it has is Monster Hunter and that is jumping ship to the 3DS...... This game will fail I am sure of it. |

Hmph. I expected that.
Like I said Monster Hunter and everyone already has a DS and why buy a DS when the 3DS is coming. Also: http://gonintendo.com/viewstory.php?id=146422 http://gonintendo.com/viewstory.php?id=146735 Winning by 10,000 units it 1 region is nothing to be proud of ^_~ |

The PSP has Crisis Core, Dissidia, and Jeanne D'Arc, though, which are all excellent. Plus I can play the Harvest Moon: Boy and Girl port on it...
The designs for this game look weak, and of course they're using the pale version of Seychelles. I'm still interested, however, and I could very well see this game getting an NA release due to Hetalia's popularity. |

I've been playing my PSP more than any other console lately
(my poor little DS is probably covered in dust by now, haven't played anything on it since Strange Journey...). It has an excellent library of games, and I can't wait for Valkyria Chronicles 3 and the Innocent Sin remake. This isn't something I'd pick up, but games like that have been doing really well on it. |

...mario your random PSP-bashing-nintendo-fanboying has absolutely NOTHING to do with this topic so if you have nothing constructive to say about 'Gakuen Hetalia Portable PSP Game Video' then I don't even know why you're here.
(besides, it's not like, oh, Project Diva and Project Diva 2nd for PSP were bestsellers or anything..../sarcasm ) Back on topic, I'm probably going to buy this game although I really, really wish they could have used Himaruya's art. I really dislike Studio Deen's artwork most of the time and the fact that they made Seychelles xerox-white is infuriating to me. Yet, ironically enough, the art for the scenes in this game actually looks better than the anime does. Either way I'm a huge fan of the seiyuu and voicework in the anime no matter how much I dislike Studio Deen's handling of it, and since the voices are in the game that will certainly keep me entertained. Can't say I'm that interested in the special edition version though...a drama CD could be nice, but I'm mostly disappointed that it wasn't a figure. 90% of anime-based games contain a figure with their special edition and lately they all seem to be nendoroids.. I just wish there were more Hetalia figures besides two trading figure sets and some low-quality gashapon keyrings. The lack of figures for something so insanely popular is really weird. |

Agreed. Deen is so...lazy when it comes to animation and character design. Using Himaruya's art would have been much-preferred. I never understood why Deen had to whitewash every character sans Cuba (and hopefully Cameroon). While Seychelles appears white in a majority of the black-and-white images, her recent colored appearances all use tanned skin. Same goes for Egypt and Turkey. Though even ignoring the skin issue, her game/anime design really isn't that appealing...It doesn't even look that close to the original one. Part of me wants to buy it and struggle through the Japanese text. Another part wants to see if they're be an English release. |
