Combining all 3 of your reviews Carl, it's safe to assume that this is a kiddie ver. of... Obari-class anime?

Fun for fun, but... for kids? Sounds good.

After having watched the series the whole way through, I have to say that my one and only disappointment is that staff felt they just had to end the series with an out-of-the-blue cliffhanger, rather than let it feel it nicely wrapped up with its own conclusion. For that reason alone I hope they do a second season, that and I'm surprised at how much this series rocked for all its old-fashioned story elements and wouldn't mind at all watching more!

Huh. Now this sounded interesting enough for me to maybe take a look back at the rest of the series. If, you know, this season continues to be as uninteresting to me as it has been. (Where is Kuragehime, Funimation?)

What? This has to be one of my favorite seasons of anime.

We just like different things and have different standards, then. There are still a few other series I need to check out, though, so I'm hoping they don't disappoint. Otherwise, I guess it's the resumption of Shiki and finishing some of my decades-old unlicensed stuff.

Have to admit, I got a big laugh out of spoiler[the scene where Hughes shed his "construction guy" persona and opened a closet filled to the brim with M.I.B. clothes.]

That said, I sort of wished that they hadn't turned him into Joey's "best uncle", but kept him as an emotionally conflicted handler who's job required him to repeatedly send a kid into battle.

In any case, I really enjoyed the show, and always noted how nice the show looked. I think a lot of people passed on this because of its retro-modern American design, but that was a draw for me. Wish more people would watch it (as well as Valerian and Laureline), but I think too many people pass on these shows because they are not "Japanese enough". It doesn't matter that their existence is due to a plethora of Japanese animators...
